ALBERTO ALMANON LACHICA, 68, of Manila, Philippines, succumbed to cardiac arrest at Centinela Hospital Medical Center on October 15, 2015 at 12:10 PM. Abet, as he was more commonly called, is survived by his devoted wife, Susan, of 50 years, adoring daughters Monica, Loida and Kareema, and sons-in-law, Robert and Ruben, sisters Dorothy and Luz, and sister-in-law, Celia, and three loving grandchildren, Ryan, Sean and Rianne. Alberto was a proud and loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
A lover of life and family, Abet loved music and dancing and worked as an accountant for 20+ years until he was forced to stop due to a major stroke at the young age of 50, upon which time, his wife, Susan took devout care of him. A faithful Catholic and an alumnus of Jesuit-run Ateneo de Manila from first-grade through college, Abet built a strong network of a countless number of friends who refer to him as “one of the great ones.” Always the source of laughter and strength, Abet’s friendships run deep and he still regularly visited and was in contact with his friends from all over the world.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 10:00 PM at Ingold Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 22. Mass services will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fontana on Friday, October 23 at 10:00 AM. Alberto will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 29 at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Colton, CA at the site of the Holy Family.
