Charles Dumas

Charles Leroy Dumas, 84 of Rialto, entered into rest on January 12, 2016 in the comfort of his home, Surrounded by family. Charles was born to Hershel and Gladys Dumas in Aurora, Illinois. He was the fourth child of 13 children. Charles graduated high school and enlisted in the army in 1948. Charles became a Jazz musician and Drummer during this time. He became friends with several famous Jazz musicians, Like Canon Ball Adderly and played with several Jazz bands from Chicago to California. He worked in the railroad industry and attended college and went on to become a General Contractor.
Charles married two times with Barbara Dumas whom he had five daughters with Helen Franklin, Gloria Dumas Ledesma, Barbara Dumas, Sharon Cherry, and Sherry Dumas. He then met Docelia Ridley and had two Sons, Donald Ridley and Duryea Ridley. Charles had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren who will always be inspired by his strong will and encouragement to be the best you can be, Our Father, will be loved and missed by all who knew him.Charles is Preceeded in death by Helen Franklin and Sherry Dumas.
