Delores M. Embree
July 1, 1931 – July 1, 2018
Delores passed away peacefully and quietly at the home of her daughter Rebecca Byrket on her 87th birthday. She is survived by her sons Robert (Laura) and James (Teresa) Embree, daughters Rebecca (Frank) Byrket and Sarah (Steven) Esparza, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild due in August 2018, nephews Dennis and Vance Paulson and niece Amy Paulson, half-brothers Kenny, Kerry, and Kim Paulson and half-sister Kathy. She was preceded in death by daughters Baby Daughter Embree and Shiela, son Patrick and husband Asa.
Delores was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Burdeth and Rose Paulson. She married Asa M. Embree on October 4th, 1947 after his return from serving in WWII. They lived in St. Paul, Minnesota for 17 years, then relocated to Fontana, CA for the next 13 years. Finally, they decided to settle in Wofford Heights, CA near Lake Isabella. Delores and Asa were happily married for 59 years until his passing in 2006.
Although Delores suffered from numerous health issues, she was an active parent and community member serving as a Girl Scout leader and room mom. She served on the Altar Society and Rosary Society and was a member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, and Elk's Lodge.
Delores will be remembered for her tremendous love of family and her strong faith in God. She will be remembered for her great cooking and delicious baking; especially the loads of cookies she made. We will forever remember her wonderful sense of humor and her generous Christmas and birthday gifts and cards.
Viewing hours will be 4 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Ingold Funeral and Cremation in Fontana, with rosary at 7 pm. A mass will be celebrated 9 am, Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. George Catholic Church in Fontana. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington.
