Dolores Mae Cain, 87, of Fontana, passed away on March 23, 2018 in Colton, California. She was born January 13, 1931 in Wooster, Ohio to her parents Homer C. Steen and Mildred A. (Chilcote) Steen.
Dolores was happily married to Thomas W. Cain. They shared 31 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on February 12, 1985. Together they had 5 beautiful children.
Dolores went to school in the same schoolhouse that her father attended-Walnut Street School. As a young adult she attended Arizona State College at Flagstaff, now known as Northern Arizona University.
Dolores enjoyed gardening and always took time to admire the flowers that bloomed around her. She devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her growing family. Countless hours were dedicated to volunteering at the local school where Dolores would help children learn to read or teach them their colors. She will be lovingly remembered for the beautiful soul that she was.
Dolores is survived by her 5 children; Donald W. Cain (Laura Pauli), Carl D. Cain (Kathy Cole), Mary S. Cain-Simon (Harlan Simon), Janet L. Cain, and Carol A. Cain-Hom (Daniel Hom). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; Crystal Nguyen (Vu Nguyen), Shannon Cain, Ariela Simon, Elon Simon, and Robert Hom as well as 3 great-grandchildren; Kayla Gonzales, Isaac Gonzales, and Cameron Nguyen. Dolores is also survived by her sister; Hazel Monroe and nephew James Monroe.
There will be a visitation 1 pm, Friday, March 30, 2018 at Ingold Funeral and Cremation with a funeral service at 2 pm. A private burial will take place at Riverside National Cemetery. Ingold Funeral and Cremation, Fontana, in charge of arrangements.
