Domingo “Mingo” Najera Almaraz, 86 of Fontana passed away April 2, 2016 in Pomona, CA. He was born November 05, 1929 in Temecula, California. His parents Were Domingo and Maria Almaraz. He attended Elsinor Union High School and then went on to San Bernardino Valley College. Mingo went on to join in the Air Force in 1947. He formed a part of the Rescue Team at Norton Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged after serving his 3 years of service in 1950. Mingo enjoyed hunting, camping, raising horses, gardening, going to casinos, hiking, politics, cooking and spending time with family. He served 25 years as an Electronics and Radar Technician for the Civil Service at Norton AFB, and also served as a sheriff for Riverside County Sheriff Reserve.
Domingo leaves behind to cherish his memory his children Toni, Christopher, Alice, and Doreen, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren . He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Maria Virginia Almaraz.
Services for Domingo will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 16550 Foothill Blvd. Fontana, CA on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 Beginning with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am Interment will Take place at Riverside National Cemetery, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 1:30 pm Staging Area #3 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA 92518.
