Gaston Anaya, affectionately known as “Pops”, 43 years old, of Pomona, California, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2019 at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona. He was born to Jesus Anaya Silva and Maria de Refugio Anaya Aguilar on December 31, 1975 in Los Angeles, CA.
Pops attended and graduated from Garey High School. He was the general manager of Di Carlo Liquor for the past 20 years.
Pops wasn’t the kind of guy you could place in a single category. He loved nature and taking his boat out to go fishing. He also loved cars and enjoyed cruising down the streets of Pomona in his truck. Pops had an ear for his favorite Rap music. He also appreciated his musica Ranchera. When the occasion called for it, Pops would dress the part in a shirt and slacks for a formal affair but he still had on his Dodgers hat. Pops was a huge baseball fan, only cheering one team: The Los Angeles Dodgers. He also enjoyed football. Most of all, Pops was uniquely himself. He loved spending time with his family barbequing and catching up.
Pops never thought twice to help someone who needed him. He was always willing to lend a hand or open his home to anyone in need. You could say that Pops had a special place at the heart of his family. He was easily likeable and had many good friends. Pops will be lovingly remembered for the kind, loving guy that he was.
Pops is survived by his father Jesus Anaya Silva; mother Maria de Refugio Anaya Aguilar; brother Alex Anaya, sister Esther Munoz, sister Olivia Rodriguez, brother Jesus Anaya Jr, sister Beatriz Anaya and sister Patricia Anaya. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
