Gaylord Earl Hendrickson, 72, of Fontana, California, passed away on February 17, 2018 in Fontana. He was born September 7, 1945 in Wilmar, California, a rural part of Alhambra. Gaylord was the son of Earl Tenniville Hendrickson and Anna May Jones.
Gaylord went to Arroyo High School in El Monte and graduated with his class in 1964. He had a strong work ethic and worked in a steel mill for 38 years, retiring from California Steel in 2008. Some of Gaylord’s favorite pass times were auto and motorcycle restoration and collecting art and antiques. He had a great appreciation for music and was known as a creator and builder. Gaylord loved his family dearly and spent vacations on their boat. With sun on his skin, breeze in his hair, surrounded by his loved ones he would enjoy being on the water.
Gaylord met and married the love of his life Francesca. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage. Along with his wife, Gaylord is survived by children Lucinda Hanshaw, Kenneth (Tracey) Hendrickson, Carrie (Dave) Brumfield-McGinnis, Jeffrey Hendrickson, Cathleen (Joseph) Pearson and Joseph E. Hendrickson.
Gaylord is preceded in death by his mother Anna May Krycki in 2000, his father Earl Hendrickson in 1952 and his step-father George Krycki in 1998.
There will be a public visitation 4 pm, on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Ingold Funeral and Cremation in Fontana with a reception to follow. Private interment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Whittier.
