Idella Brown

Idella Stephens Brown was born December 28, 1919, in Webster Florida, to the late Roosevelt Henderson and Minnie Washington Henderson of Bushnell, Florida. Idella known as “Mother” had 2 sisters and 12 brothers all preceded her in death. She was known as the Henderson Family Matracik because she was oldest living family member. Her first marriage was to James Stephens in 1940’s from this unity there were two children, George Williams, son of Detroit, Michigan and daughter Shirley Butler Hughes and son-in law Walter Hughes of Fontana, California. Her last marriage was to Deacon Henry Brown of Macon, Georgia who preceded her in death in 1995. After which “Mother” relocated from Macon, Georgia to Fontana, California, where she resided for 16 years. This time was spending watching her grandchildren, grow-up, planning thanksgiving dinners, Christmas activities and traveling to Detroit and Florida to spend time with family and friends. Her favorite Christmas gifts were giving everyone a two dollar bill.”Mother has 4 grand children and 5 great grand children of Detroit, Michigan and Florida .Four grand children and 2 great grand kids in California and a host of nieces and nephews.
