John Joseph Olsen, born on January 14, 1942, Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on September 4 , 2024 He was a dedicated man whose life was marked by a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to those around him.
John's career was diverse and exemplary. He served in the Army for three years, adopting the values of discipline and dedication that would guide him throughout his life. He found fulfillment as a long haul truck driver, contributing significantly to aircraft research and development, maintenance and security, and worked at l Henry Elementary. His efforts in education were recognized with an award for service from the Rialto Unified School District, which stands testament to his impact on the community.
He completed his education by graduating high school, laying the foundation for a lifelong journey of learning and personal growth. In addition to his professional achievements, John was deeply committed to helping his friends and neighbors, always ready to lend a hand or offer support.
Outside of his professional endeavors, John had a rich array of hobbies and interests. He was a passionate animal lover, caring for two beloved Boston Terriers Billy and Jamison, who brought joy to his life. His love for sports, particularly Green Bay Packers football, brought him immense enjoyment and camaraderie with fellow fans.
John was not only a loving husband but also a devoted family man. He is survived by his spouse, Patricia Ann Olsen, his son, Richard John Olsen, and step-son Robert Duane Kinsey. He also cherished his bond with his brother, Richard Francis Olsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Genevieve Olsen, his brother Thomas Olsen and step-sons', Donald Kinsey and Thomas Kinsey. These relationships shaped his life and instilled in him the values he carried until the end.
John was also known for his long-term involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous, serving the community for 25 years and helping countless individuals on their journeys to recovery.
His legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him; a man who loved fiercely, worked diligently, and gave generously to his community. John Joseph Olsen will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he touched.
