Marcel "Cherp" Cherpin passed away on March 20, 2017 at home in Highland, CA. He was born Nov. 6, 1927 in Fontana, CA where he farmed the vineyards of his family's winery for many years. He was a Milwright welder and the owner of Cherp's Bar in Fontana. He played Varsity Football at Chaffey High School, liked to golf, was an excellent bowler, but his favorite sport was fishing! He was a member of the Native Son's of the Golden West, and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America local 1607.
He is predeceased by his wife Elaine, sister Marguerite, and brothers Eugene and Leon. He is survived by his 4 children, Sherry (Jim) Balsano, Marcel (Kathy) Cherpin, Angela Welden, Paulette (Jim) Hedrick, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Joseph, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by the many friends he made in his lifetime
A viewing will be held at Ingold Funeral & Cremation in Fontana on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5pm to 9pm. Memorial services will be held at Ingold's Chapel on Saturday, April 8 at 10am.
