Maria Teresa Gallardo Duran

Maria Teresa Gallardo Duran, 89 of Rancho Cucamonga, passed away on May 28, 2022 in Rancho Cucamonga. She was born to Jose Guadalupe Duran Dominguez and Lidia Gomez Zamora on June 14, 1932 in Leon, Mexico.
Maria was born into a large family; she started helping her mother with chores at a very young age. When she wasn’t helping with the family she was working at a sewing shop, beauty salon, and even catering.
In 1957 Maria started working as a restaurant waitress in a motel. This is where she met Jose Refugio Gallardo the owner of the motel. She married the hardworking man in 1959 and celebrated 41 years of beautiful marriage together. Maria was blessed with 3 children; Joe, Gerardo, and Mario Gallardo.
Maria was able to help manage the motel and restaurant until they moved to a small farm in 1965. By 1971 they had Immigrated to California with her family. She then became a homemaker; focusing on raising the three children.
In 2000 Maria had unfortunately become a widow and moved to Rancho Cucamonga in 2005. Maria loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for them; to be later described as the best meals. She spent her time taking care of her pets and plants. She was funny and often called a Joker by anyone who knew her. Many times, she was described as the life of the party.
Maria lost a long battle with medical issues in 2022, where she passed away at home. She was surrounded by family in her final moments.
Maria is survived by two brothers, two sisters, two sons, eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband and son; Jose Refugio and Gerardo Gallardo.
Maria Teresa Gallardo Duran will truly be missed and always remain in our hearts.
