Marie Rucker

Marie Frances Rucker, 89, of Fontana, California passed away on 4, January 2020 in Fontana, California. She was born 2, March 1930 to Joseph and Anna Keininger in Chicago, Illinois.
Marie met and married Frank Fletcher, and together they had two beautiful children: Maryanne Rangel, and Frank Fletcher. They shared 21 years of marriage together before Frank tragically passed away in 1968. Marie would later meet and marry Marvin Rucker, whom she would share another wonderful 25 years of marriage together before his passing.
Marie would proudly work at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana for well over 30 years, working as a clinic administrator. She was an active volunteer with the Red Cross, and a member of the Good Samaritans Club for 17 years. Throughout her life she received well recognition for her duties and appreciation for her active support in her community through Kaiser.
Marie was an avid craftswoman when it came to any sort of needlework. She would frequently crochet, sew, and knit all sorts of items for her grandchildren. Her grandchildren fondly remember her gifts of blankets, socks, beanies and scarves, and her grand-daughters reflect on the gift of Marie sewing their Christening dresses. Marie was very well-travelled throughout the world. From Africa, Australia, Ireland, and England, there’s nearly no place that she had not seen. Though not a gardener, Marie loved the beauty of flowers, and would instead choose to appreciate them from her daughter, Maryanne’s, gardening skills.
Marie is survived by her children, Maryanne and Frank, as well as her 4 grandchildren: Matthew Rangel, Elizabeth Garcia (and her husband, Bobby), Kyle Fletcher, and Candance Montgomery-Smith (and her husband, Patrick). She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her first husband and father to their children, Frank, and her second husband, Marvin. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Anne Gerhardt.
Services for Marie will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, 8, February 2020 at Ingold Funeral & Cremation located at 8277 Juniper Avenue, Fontana, CA. Immediately following the funeral service, a reception will be held at Elizabeth Garcia's home.
