Patrick Walsh

April 30, 1949 — October 24, 2018

Patrick Michael Walsh, known by many as “Pat”, age 69, of Norco, California, passed away on October 24, 2018 in Corona, California.  He was born to George and Joan Walsh on April 30, 1949 in San Diego, California and resided in Norco for 26 years.
As a young man, Pat joined the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served his country that he loved so dearly.  He received the National Defense Service Metal, Vietnam Service Metal, Rifle Marksman Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
Pat attended Chaffey College and later began a lasting career that ended with Vacco Industries as a contract manager.  It was there that Pat met so many wonderful people.
Pat was married to Kerry Johnson-Walsh whom he loved dearly.  Together, they shared 23 years of marriage.
Pat was the proud father of three beautiful daughters; Erin, Aimee and Rachel.  If you asked him, he would say they were his greatest accomplishment.  The countless childhood memories of his daughters are a true testament to how much he adored them.
Apart from being a wonderful father, Pat was a brave, strong, straight shooting cowboy.  He was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and the past President of Equestrian Parader’s of California.  Pat also had involvement in the Norco Horsemen’s Association as past President and past Board Member.  He especially enjoyed putting on his novelty cowboy gear, mounting his horse and participating in mounted shooting.  He loved all animals and had an exceptional love for horses.
Pat was the announcer of “Horse Week” in Norco, CA, including announcer for parades, lawn mower races and the all-time favorite obstacle course.  He rode in the Rose Parade and Hollywood Christmas parade for 11 years, from 1996 to 2007.  Pat was involved in the Annual Day of the Cowboy where he received a Certificate of Recognition from Mayor Ted Hoffman.
Pat took pride in being an ordained minister in the States of California and Nevada.  Being able to officiate services for close family and friends was both fulfilling and something he held dear.
Pat will be remembered as a wonderful husband to his wife, hero to his daughters, loving grandpa to his grandkids, supportive brother to his siblings, favorite uncle to his nieces and nephew and friend to all who knew him.  Ride easy and ride free Cowboy.
Pat is lovingly survived by his wife of 23 years, Kerry Johnson-Walsh, daughter Erin Walsh, daughter Aimee Walsh, daughter and son-in-law Rachel and John Verdugo; grandchildren Jonothan, Madeline, Hannah, Alexandra and Olivia.  He is also survived by his sister Stephanie Walsh and sister and brother-in-law Betsy and Phillip Wright, brothers Timothy and Dan Walsh, sister-in-law Wendy Johnson and her husband Dan McCoy.
Pat is preceded in death by his father George Walsh, mother Joan Walsh and niece Sabrina Wright.
