Rudy Romero Calderon, 78 of Victorville, passed away on August 26, 2023 in Apple Valley, CA. He was born to Alfonso Calderon and Mercy Romero on January 31, 1945 in Orange, California and lived the majority of his life in the Los Angeles County.
Rudy had a passion for cooking that cultivated a 36-year career as a chef. He enjoyed camping with his family and collecting coins. With a generous heart and desire to help, Rudy gave monthly donations to various children’s hospitals and to his church. Over the years, Rudy experienced life through the lens of his video recorder. Videography was one of his favorite hobbies. Creating home movies and taking hundreds of photos were the treasure he leaves to the next generation.
With an old record player belting out the lyrics of his favorite “oldies”, Rudy would relive his happiest “yesterdays”. Of course, nothing compared to the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
Rudy was very much loved. He was a father, grandfather, uncle and friend but if you asked him, he was a Christian before anything else. Rudy loved reading his bible and he took his walk seriously. For this reason, we know that because he is absent from the body, he is in the presence of the Lord.
Rudy is survived by his children Valerie and Erick Valenciano and Rudy Calderon Jr.; 12 grandchildren, and his brother Joe Calderon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his children Regina Calderon, and Emmanuel Calderon; and siblings Louis, Richard and Virginia Calderon.
