Our beloved Apa, Salvador Sr. Rodriguez was born to Jesus and Juana Rodriguez on October 19, 1931 in Angamacutiro, Michoacan, Mexico. In spite of the many struggles to get here, our Apa came to the United States around 1970. He met every hardship with a hope of giving his family a better life.
Our Apa was a very hard working man who always provided for his family. He raised us all to be who we are today. If there is one thing he made very clear, it was of how proud he was of his kids and grandkids. We cherished the many stories he told and held onto the wisdom he shared with us. His family was important to him and despite not being able to see, our Apa thrived on feeling everyone's love around him. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family while listening to their laughter and conversation.
Our Apa loved to be outside both planting and harvesting. He had a green thumb and appreciated picking fruit from the trees he planted and vegetables from his plants for his family to enjoy.
Our Apa had a loving and kind heart. He was the type of man who would take off his shirt to give it to someone in need. We loved our Apa very much and we will miss him dearly. Our beautiful memories of Apa will live on in our hearts. We hold on tight to God's promise that we will see our Apa again....and that next time we see him, it will be forever. Rest in Peace Apa.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years of marriage Maria Rodriguez, his eight children Antonio, Rosendo, Enrique, Jhaney, Barbara, Arturo, Urbano and Salvador Jr; 24 grandkids, and 25 great-grandkids, 5 daughter-in-laws and 2 son-in-laws.
